Well all I can tell you about the MS bullshit is that from personal experience even that often isnt good enough, nope they want elders for husbands.
When I was reaching out for several years (7 to be exact!) to become an MS again in my 30s it turned out I was blocked by the PO year after year after year because of a personal grudge he had for me. So much for gods spirit and all that other crap we were spoon fed.

i found this article interesting & just wanted to share.
after going through my teenage years trying to be the perfect jw, i realized that trying to live up to the standards imposed on me have been for worse & not for better.
i was feeling miserable, repressed, unfulfilled, with a great lack of self confidence & self esteem.
Thanks for that. I can identify with it.
i happened to attend a session of the summer convention on sunday morning.
one thing that that struck me was how their view of paradise was that we would all be the same.
they kept talking about how nice it would be if we all spoke the same language.
Unending happy clappy time, I think the suicide rate would be thru the roof.
i've, over the years, looked into many religions.
obviously, from those that have seen me post here, i've become an atheist simply because i couldn't find any reason to believe in god.
recently, though, over the past few months, a new change has started.
I go further, I hate religion, all of it.
That people can still believe in the crap that they do in this day and age and then force their children to believe in the lies too disgusts me.
The video cofty posted in the jgnat / islam thread highlights what religious conviction can do, nothing has changed in the 10000s of years of people believing in unprovable nonsense so it isnt something new.
in my intimate conversations with many of my atheists friends i have found that their real problem is the human rights abuse of the religious fanaticssomething which god hates (not the lack of proof for gods existence) (means when the religions went to one extreme, their opponents go to another extremethus god is not at all an element in religious fanaticism and atheism alike) atheists shun, belittle or resist proofs for the existence of god, because they fear it will only further strengthen the religion from which the fanaticism arisethus object of atheists attack is fanaticism (not god) .
hence what atheists do is really a service to the humanity (while fanaticism is a crime against humanity).
hence when the atheists ask for proof for the existence of god, one need not take it seriously.
